Africa’s Growing Youth Wave
The Challenge
Africa’s population is set to double by 2050, with more than 60% under the age of 25. This “youth wave” can become a transformative force — or a deepening crisis. Across the continent, many young people face failing education systems, scarce economic opportunities, and limited access to mentorship or leadership platforms. Without the right support, they risk cycles of unemployment, unsafe migration, or disengagement from civic life.
The Call
From bustling cities to remote villages, African youth are speaking up. They seek practical skills, real guidance, and a sense of belonging. They dream of leading, building businesses, serving their communities, and giving back — but too often lack the networks, role models, or resources to make it happen.
The Response
AYLI (African Youth Leadership Initiative) exists to identify, equip, and elevate the next generation of African leaders. We create a clear pathway for youth ages 18–28 to grow in character, develop practical skills, and deliver measurable impact in their communities. Our model blends mentorship, leadership training, entrepreneurial support, and global exposure — all informed by deep listening to the voices of African youth themselves.

AYLI Youth equips young Africans—primarily ages 18 to 28—with the guidance, skills, and mindset to become changemakers in their communities. Through relational Mentorship, character-based Leadership, community-rooted Entrepreneurship, and carefully guided Global Exposure, we empower youth to lead with confidence, collaborate with integrity, and drive local solutions.
